What to Bring On Race Day
Remember to keep it light on race day! You won’t need tons of items, just a few simple things to make for a fun and safe day. Not sure what to bring? Here are a few suggestions:
• Your race bib
• Your lucky running shoes!
Please remember to come early!
30A will be closed to all traffic by 6:30AM. Please keep this in mind as you plan for the day.
Parking will be available at Van Butler Elementary School and South Walton High School. Shuttle service will be provided from these locations by Astro Travel .IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not block the beach access at nearby Ed Walline Park. Doing so causes a saftey hazard to beachgoers, and as such cars blocking the access will be towed at the owner’s expense.
You can drop off any non-valuable personal items at bag check, along with your tear-off tag from your race bib. Your belongings will be held here and available for collection until the close of the finish line on race day. Items not claimed by the end of the day will be held for one week before being donated. Please do not check valuables, cash, or jewelry. The event and it’s volunteers are not responsible for any lost items.
If you discard an article of clothing along the race course, we strongly recommend doing so near a water station. We cannot make any guarantees that items will be retrieved, but our course crew will make every effort to pick up clothing as they close the course. Retrieved articles that are not claimed will be kept for one week before being donated.
5K Runners still on the course at 8:00AM will be ushered onto the sidewalk to allow the half marathon runners to safely pass. The half marathon course will be re-opened to traffic at approximately 10:30AM. At approximately 10:00AM, all remaining runners/walkers will be moved to the off-road, paved path in preparation for the road opening. There will not be any support for the runners or walkers along the course after 10:30AM.
This course is scenic, fast and mostly flat. The course has been USATF certified (certification code FL16029TY), and will start and finish at Gulf Place. Racers will run west along Scenic Highway 30A, past several quaint beach communities including Blue Mountain Beach, and WaterColor, where the turnaround point is located at The Lake House. Please use caution throughout the race. Volunteers and police will monitor the cross traffic at all intersections as much as possible.

OnTime Results of Atlanta, GA will time the 30A Half Marathon and 5K races. They use the MyLaps BibTag timing system which is used to time some of the largest races in the world including the Boston and Chicago Marathons. They will be clocking finishers as they cross the finish line to provide fast, accurate results.
